The 21 year old Pierre Le Moignan was in his 4th year of studying chemistry at York. His supervisor, Dr Angelika Sebald described him as a “thoughtful and pleasant young man”, with the head of Chemistry, Professor Paul Walton saying “Pierre was a very pleasant and intelligent young man”.
Le Moignan’s body was found on the 4th of January floating in the River Ouse, nearly 7 weeks since he went missing on November 21. North Yorkshire police have refused to confirm whether a wallet, mobile phone, keys and a watch along with a handwritten note found the day after Le Moignan went missing belonged to him.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
