At around 7pm yesterday evening a cyclist came off his bike on Green Dykes Lane. According to the York Press, the 80-year-old cyclist was airlifted to hospital.
The incident took place towards the Shell garage end of the road, which was blocked off by two police vans until 11:30pm. The North Yorkshire Police Department said that the cyclist was “in a serious but stable condition”.
The man hit the back of a stationary BMW 1 Series waiting at the red light at the junction with Hull Road. The police are appealing for witnesses.
