Seven teams of four will compete in the following challenges:
Day 1-2: Sales Challenge Trading challenge also begins
Teams were given a budget of just £10 with which they could purchase products or create a service. This challenge tested teams’ creativity and negotiation and the four teams that generated the most profit will go through to the next round. Teams can sell both on campus and in town.
The Trading challenge: This new and unique challenge tested teams’ abilities to generate the most profit through speculation. Teams were given a budget of £10 to trade online using GNU Trader – performance will be judged throughout the week.
Days 3-4: Marketing Challenge
Using just £10, teams will be required to create a marketing strategy for one of England’s great historic sights: Temple Newsam House in Leeds. The winning team will be selected by a panel of judges, and will be the one that has shown strong performance in all challenges.
Only teams that have proceeded to the Marketing Challenge will be able to submit their four day trading performance for consideration. Teams will have to manage their time effectively for success in the initial two challenges, whilst remaining ahead of fellow online traders.
