Pick of the Pastels
Pastels have become a great hit this spring and it’s such an easy trend to pull off (the same can’t be said for past trends * cough * hareem pants * cough *). Here are some of the best high street buys that everyone can wear and look on-trend this Spring.
Now that spring has sprung why not give your LBD a break and try and get yourself something a bit more bold? My favourite dress in the high street that complements this new trend has to be from Republic. The £25 colour block dress is lilac and comes accompanied with a mint green skinny belt. Not only do the colours go beautifully but it’s a perfect item for day or night. One of the great thing about pastels is they can really pick up a drab outfit and pastel blazers are perfect for doing this. Not ready to banish your trusty LBD just yet then grab yourself a colourful blazer to brighten the look up a bit. New look have a great range of casual coloured blazers for only £24.99.
If you’re feeling really confident then pick up a pair of pastel coloured jeans to give your everyday outfit that spring feel. They’re everywhere on the high street but these skinnies by Dorothy Perkins are great and are only £25 without student discount – not bad for a pair of jeans.
Don’t forget about the accessories! This lilac ladylike cross body bag by Topshop is gorgeous and fits in with the pastel trend perfectly. Make it yours for £25.
Fancy a new trendy clutch for going out? Get yourself one of these weave style clutches from asos.com for £30. They come in four shades so you’re spoilt for choice.
If you want some shiny new pastel footwear without blowing your budget then get yourself to H&M for these cute ballet pumps that come in pastel shades. They’re only £7.99 and the powder pink pair are really cute and girly.
My top rated pastel heels at the moment are from asos.com. The gorgeous suede courts are £55 and come in a lovely lilac shade with a thirteen inch heel.
This trend really is everywhere right now and can be worn by everyone so there's no excuse not to get involved! To be a bit different team up the girly pastel with something rockier, like a coral dress with a studded belt. This Miss Selfridge belt for £15 is a great example. It makes the style look a bit more edgy.
