Our Cause: Guardian Angel's Appeal

Each time you click, you are donating money to charity.

Non-profit, non-paid

The yorker, despite being a private limited company, does not make any profits. Financially it exists to support local good causes. All its members including the directors are unpaid volunteers. This is a principle that was part of the yorker at its outset. This means that each time you click you are donating money to charity.

About the Guardian Angel's Appeal

This year we will be donating any profits to the Guardian Angel's Appeal. The yorker is joining forces with the York Evening Press to raise money for a new childcare unit in York Hospital. All our profits are going toward the £300 000 Guardian angels appeal, which aims to build a crucial high-dependency unit for children born in York. Currently children must be transferred - a high-risk situation in emergencies. The desired unit would provide two life-saving rooms with specialist equipment to prevent this. The appeal passed its halfway mark on the 7th May by reaching £150 000. Every time you click you are donating a tiny fraction of money to a worthy cause. Please keep clicking!

Lucy Stephens, Health Editor of the York Evening Press said: "The Guardian appeal is an excellent choice. We are grateful to the yorker for your support in this fantastic cause."
