Hello there! Are you looking for a quick round-up of this week’s latest releases in the vast and interesting world of music? Well, say no more, my dear friend, because you came to the right place! Welcome to The Weekly Playlist where you can get your dose of new music.

The final week of March has just passed by (can’t believe we’re halfway through the spring break already) and left us with quite a lot of new releases. Here you’ll find a selection of what I consider the best of this week. Enjoy!

New songs

  • The Chainsmokers – ‘The One’

The Chainsmokers have been on fire lately. Every song they released turned into a hit. I think it will be the case for this one as well since it has the same style as the previous ones.

  • Anton Powers & Pixie Lott – ‘Baby’

As soon as I heard this song I knew it’s one of those that you listen when you think of vacation. It has a summerish happy vibe that I really like.

  • ZZ Ward – ‘Help Me Mama’

ZZ Ward doesn’t release as many songs as I’d like her to, but I’m happy I could include her in this playlist. Her R&B rockish style always puts me in a good mood.

New music videos

  • Kendrick Lamar – ‘HUMBLE’

Kendrick Lamar amazed the world when he released his brand new video for his brand new single ‘HUMBLE’ and, as some claim, he proved once again that he’s the god of rap. Cinematographically speaking, the video is crazy amazing, featuring already iconic shots. They even made a short documentary where they explain the way the video was filmed.

  • Little Mix ft. Machine Gun Kelly – ‘No More Sad Songs’

After they released the last music video, Little Mix received criticism for being too sexual and trying too hard. I’m not sure how far this video is from the last one but it’s definitely better. In this video, the girls from Little Mix and Machine Gun Kelly have fun in a Western-themed setting and it matches the good vibe of the song.

  • G-Eazy x Carnage – ‘Guala’

G-Eazy and Carnage have been friends for a very long time and the fact that they collaborated once again is no surprise. ‘Guala’ is the first track on their recently released EP called Step Brothers. They posted the music video this week and it fits the lyrics perfectly. The word ‘guala’ refers to large sums of money and naturally, the song is about their large sums of money and their big egos in general. Accordingly, in the video, they have oversized heads and they are fooling around the town. It’s quite funny!

New song covers

  • Keith Urban – ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color’ (Cover by Home Free)

The classy boys from Home Free not only managed to make a beautiful cover of Keith Urban’s song, but they also made a great video.

  • Neil Young – ‘Heart of Gold’ (Cover by Passenger)

Michael Rosenberg aka Passenger has a very nice voice and this week, he made a cover of ‘Heart of Gold’ which I think suits him very well.

  • Lorde – ‘Green Light’ (Cover by Alex Goot & SAINTE)

Lorde’s ‘Green Light’ is pretty popular these days so obviously there had to be song covers made. Goot & SAINTE’ released one this week and I think I like the piano better in this version than in the original.
