DON’T MISS OUT: What’s coming to City Screen this Halloween

With scary season upon us it is high time to talk about what truly matters in life: the special screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show that is taking place on the 31st of this month at City Screen in York.

The 1975, all round raucous classic, is one that demands to be shown on the largest screen possible and when this happens it is a downright necessity to partake in. The fun filled, completely bizarre and blaring film has earned its place in history as a controversial, yet deeply enjoyable few hours. Has there ever been a better excuse to dress up, have a few drinks and enjoy one of the greatest Halloween themed films of all time?

With an undeniably brilliant cast, with the likes of the ever exceptional Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry, I’m running out of ways to fully justify the true brilliance of this film event. It’s utterly indescribable with a plot that arguably doesn’t make a whole lot of sense and led by a distinctive and at times sensational musical accompaniment, this film encompasses the word original.

If you haven’t seen it already. You must. If you have seen it already, you must watch it again. This film only gets more fun the more times it is viewed and what better way to spend an evening than in a packed screen, with a cheeky drink and where dressing up is welcomed?

Dave Taylor, City Screen’s Marketing Manager, says, “We’ve teamed up with Cointreau to make this Hallowe’en cinema trip extra special as all customers over 18 can claim a free Cointreau Fizz cocktail when they present their ticket for The Rocky Horror Picture Show at City Screen’s Riverside Bar.”
