The Yorker is very excited to announce that members of our team will be working with Conscious Co. to create new opportunities for upcoming artists and young creatives in and around York. Passionate about sustainability, Conscious Co. are looking for artists who share their passion in both their ethos and their body of work. The Yorker is calling for any artists that would be interested in collaborating with them.
Set to launch in May, Conscious Co. are making “the world’s first sustainable product range” using fresh ingredients that were not suitable for retail and otherwise would have been wasted. Starting with a Conscious Gin, they utilise wonky potatoes from a Yorkshire farm. As part of their company mission they aim to support as many partners as possible, encouraging and collaborating with local businesses, food rescue charities, and upcoming artists.
Artists working on this project are encouraged to get creative with the fruit and vegetables that are the main ingredients of the product. Each chosen artist’s work will be featured on the Conscious Gin bottle. Although this job is not paid, it is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure: each bottle will feature a QR code allowing customers to view the artist’s story and their body of work. The company is looking for art that will really ‘pop’, so bold eye-catching work is essential, and artists with a design or graphics background are very much encouraged to apply.
